Economic Development

The Economic Development Project focuses on the roles of institutions, bargaining, and networks on economic development policy choices. Current research applies game theoretic, institutional rational choice and ICA frameworks to investigate development policy choices, incentive amounts and joint ventures. This project is supported by the DeVoe Moore Center and a National Science Foundation award #0214174.

New and Ongoing Projects

 

Green Jobs and Economic Growth
This project traces green job creation nationally, linking it to local government sustainability efforts. It will also construct a time series 22 year time series cross-sectional data base of green jobs in Florida cities defined at the 8-digit SIC level.

 

Networks and Economic Development (NED)
This project investigates how the structure of network relationships among local governments linking a national survey of collaboration to employment and investment change and by applying SIENA to panel of network surveys in Orlando to identify how the evolution on network relationships influenced development outcomes.
